Jinja Ninja - ABV: 4%
Hurrah.! A proper ginger beer.!
Jinja Ninja is a lovely, warming ginger beer from the Peerless Brewing Company in Birkenhead on The Wirral, only a mile or so from where I grew up (hi Mum.!).
It pours exceptionally clear, with plenty of effervescence, yet no sediment, so I presume it's not bottle conditioned. The head is only light and doesn't last long.
On the nose, it's a subtlety light ale with a hint of spicy warmth from the ginger.
In the mouth, Jinja Ninja is initially a nicely flavoured light ale, but after the swallow a lovely ginger warmth spreads all around the mouth... nice.
This is the first beer I've tried from Peerless, and judging by the quality of execution on this one, it won't be my last. Quality stuff.
Verdict: 4/5
