Headless - ABV: 3.9%
Headless is a pale ale from Redwillow Brewery in Macclesfield, Cheshire.
It's a beer that appeared initially to pour quite badly, until I realised that it's an ale that is almost completely without any fizz whatsoever.
Subsequently, there's little discernible head once in the glass, which was a little disappointing - although that no doubt explains its name.
On the nose, there's obvious floral tones that give the impression of a light, fresh beer.
The taste confirms this, with light, floral, hoppy, fresh flavours (do I detect a hint of orange.?) that I reckon would mark this as a great session beer, especially considering its light alcohol content.
I just wish there was slightly more life in it. Having said that, if it had more life, it wouldn't be Headless...
Verdict: 3/5
