Saddle Sore - ABV: 4.2%
Brothers Stephen and Robert Naylor began brewing back in 2001 at The Old White Bear public house they owned in Cross Hills, near Keighley in Yorkshire.
They soon realised that their passion and future lay solely in brewing and in 2006 they made the decision to concentrate on producing quality, hand-crafted beers.
They’ve been in their current home for almost 6 years now, during which time they’ve developed many outstanding beers, won numerous awards and seen production increase annually.
Another limited edition pale ale commemorating this year's Le Tour starting in Yorkshire, Saddle Sore is a fresh, clean, cold-filtered beer with light carbonation and a lovely sweet aroma, reminding me of fresh red berries, particularly strawberries - really lovely!
The flavour doesn't include strawberries, but does have a nice initial sweetness, with well balanced malt and a lovely dry finish... Delicious.
Verdict: 4/5
