Christmas Cheer - ABV: 5.2%
OK, OK.... so Christmas has gone and I'm still blogging about seasonal beers.! Apologies, but it's been a busy time at work and I've had very little chance to drink (poor excuse, I know), but nevertheless, here we go with the first of the last couple of seasonal brews...
Christmas Cheer is a dark ale (no kidding) from Arbor Ales in Bristol. It pours well with very little sediment for a bottle conditioned beer and has a long lasting, thick, creamy head.
There are definite hints of Christmas spices on the nose, along with toasty, treacly notes. Very warm and inviting.
The taste is also warm and inviting, with bags of toasty, treacly, malty flavours, combined with subtle spices and a lovely, dry, hoppy finish which lingers nicely.
If you enjoy a malty, dark beer with subtle spices and a long, dry, hoppy finish (like me), you'll love this beer, just like I do.
It's nice to catch up.!!
Verdict: 4/5
