Bobbin' Robin - ABV: 4.8%
The last of my 12 Christmas beers. Actually it isn't, I've still a couple left, but let's not quibble eh.?
Bobbin' Robin is a seasonal beer from Staffordshire Brewery in Leek and it has a gorgeous, deep ruby colour, although a very disappointing head... Almost none to mention at all.
The aroma is less disappointing though. It's quite subtle on the nose, but there seems to be plenty of malt warmth with perhaps a slight hint of spice along with a hoppy overtone.
The flavour is much the same; initially warm and malty, but with a dry, hoppy finish. It's a complex, but well balanced beer and also very bitter in the traditional sense, which would no doubt be welcomed by conventional bitter drinkers... Quite nice.
Verdict: 3/5
Many, many thanks to Mrs BeerBlog for the gift of these 12 beers of Christmas. They were all very nice... Can I have some more please.? xx
