Dead Pony Club - ABV: 3.8%
I've recently been getting to know Brewdog's beers and I've come to a (admittedly sweeping) conclusion...
Although they have grown into a brewery whose beers can now be found in supermarkets (Sainsbury's and Tesco to name a couple), they still seem to have stuck to their craft beer roots in the way they produce their beers.
Dead Pony Club is a Californian pale ale which pours well, with a light head and lovely light golden colour. On the nose, there are bags of citrusy floral hops that give this beer a really fresh aroma.
The domination of the hop continues in the mouth and is gorgeously fresh thanks to the use of Simcoe, HBC and especially the floral flavours of Citra hops. A short, dry bitter swallow that doesn't linger too long finishes things nicely.
Very moreish and really delicious, I can see another visit to Brewdog on the cards very soon...
A new session favourite to add to the list I reckon.
Verdict: 4.5/5
