Green Goddess - ABV: 5.5%
Green Goddess is a limited edition Belgian green hop IPA. It's made using Belgian yeast and fresh green Sovereign hops from the UK, along with orange peel, Szechuan peppercorns and Nigella Seeds.
It poured really well from the bottle, with only a little sediment to avoid and a lovely thick head that lasted right to the bottom of the glass - a rare occurrence to say the least.!
On the nose, it's quite a subtle beer, with sweet honey and caramel and hints of said peppercorns with a citrusy tang in the background.
The flavour is subtle in much the same way as the aroma, and yet very different from other IPAs I've tasted recently. The hint of citrus hits you first, followed by a hit of peppery spice that lingers, along with a slight sweetness. A really unusual taste that's deceptively moreish. Very nice and highly recommended... if you can find it.!
Verdict: 4/5
