Lagonda: ABV 5%
Lagonda is an India Pale Ale created by Manchester's Marble Brewery and named after the 1927 car made in Staines, near London.
Lagonda is a dark blonde IPA that pours really well and not too lively, yet retains a thick off-white head right down the glass. The aroma is gorgeous, with bags of floral, citrusy hops along with hints of pine and grapefruit.
The flavour is resinous, not too bitter or effervescent, with a creamy mouthfeel with loads of juicy fruitiness. A dry finish, yet without a long lasting bitterness.
Really gorgeous and well worth seeking out if you've not tried it before... I'm not at all surprised that this was a finalist in the CAMRA 2013 Champion Bottled Beer of Britain.
Verdict: 4.5/5
