Manchester Bitter - ABV: 4.2%
Marble Brewery in Manchester have been creating high quality beers "to Mancunian standards" since 1997 and this is their Manchester Bitter.
It's a very pale bitter with a lovely, thick, very long lasting head and plenty of life. An aroma reminiscent of a much darker beer is present here, with slight hints of toasty malts along with some citrusy hops - a nice surprise.
The flavour is much the same, with an underlying warmth complimented by the fruity hoppiness and dry, bitter finish. This is one of those beers I would be quite happy drinking all evening, even if other beers I'd never tried before were available.
Tasty, refreshing and a little warming. Just like the Mancunian air perhaps?
Verdict: 3.5/5
