Pudding Porter: ABV: 4.0%
Sticking to my recent flow of local bottle conditioned ales, this gorgeously deep coloured porter is from Wilson Potter Brewery in Middleton, near Manchester.

I had to pour it quite vigorously in order to get a decent head, which although nice and thick, sadly didn't last too long anyway...
The aroma is lovely, warm and spicy - quite remeniscent of some seasonal brews I had over Christmas, with hints of cinnamon perhaps.??
The flavour of Pudding Porter is as warm and spicy as its aroma, but has the added citrusy tang of oranges to its long lasting finish.
The original premise for trying this porter was to see if it would partner the lovely (and local) Glossop Pudding that I had acquired from our friends at Praze Fine Foods (@PrazeFineFoods) on Glossop High Street.
I had high hopes for Pudding Porter being an ideal flavour match for Glossop Pudding, but I think the spicy tone of this porter slightly overpowered the pudding.
A shame really, as this is a beautiful beer that deserves a great deal of credit.
