Ruby Red - ABV: 4.4%
Ruby Red is pretty much exactly what it says on the bottle, a ruby red ale from the girls at Wilson Potter Brewery in Middleton, north of Manchester.
From the bottle, Ruby Red poured really well, with a good thick head - as you can see from the photo, which was taken about 5 minutes after pouring.
On the nose, Ruby Red smells delicious, with a malty and sweet aroma.
The flavour is delicious too. The initial hit of maltiness and sweetness is balanced afterwards by a long, dry, floral, hoppy finish making you want that initial sweetness all over again.

Personally, I think my hopes have been justified at last. This is the first beer I've had that not only compliments the sweetness of the pudding, but doesn't overpower it.
It genuinely works well and after the sweet hit of the pudding, the dry hit of Ruby Red is perfect.
Verdict: 4.5/5
