Target - ABV: 3.8%
Target is a single-hopped pale ale from Buxton Brewery, made using six different malts and Target (that's a surprise) hops.
It pours quite well, but only has a thin head that sadly doesn't last long at all.
The aroma is quite leafy and grassy with hints of apple along with some warm malty tones.
Flavour-wise, it's initially quite floral with a nice sweetness, then moving to a long, dry, slightly spicy bitterness.
This is one of the beers I tried with Glossop Pudding, just to see whether it could be a potential drinking buddy to our local dessert.
To be honest, Target does work quite well with the sweetness of Glossop Pudding as it's not an overpowering flavour and the bitterness in its finish acts as a foil to the pudding's sweetness.
Despite the fact that they go together quite well, it's a beer that sadly isn't outstanding in its own right... Target is just a little dull and, well... forgettable.
Verdict: 2.5/5
