Citra - ABV: 6.6%
Partizan Brewing have been creating contemporary ales in London's Bermondsey for a couple of years now, and despite only being a small brewery, they have made a big impact, not least on myself.
I'll admit from the off that I have a soft spot for Citra hopped IPAs, so I approached this bottle conditioned ale with the feeling that I was likely to enjoy it, especially as I've had ales from Partizan in the past and already knew that they are a great brewery.
Citra poured a lovely, slightly hazy straw colour, lightly carbonated with a lovely, thick, long lasting head.
The aroma is lovely. Pine, grapefruit, mango, peach and lemon, with subtle hints of caramel. Typical Citra.
The flavour is a bit resinous and initially slightly sweet (in a nice way) with bags of orange and sherbet lemon. It's a hugely refreshing flavour and doesn't have the lingering bitterness you would associate with some other heavily hopped ales.
Utterly delicious and straight into my top 10 of favourite bottled ales. Gorgeous!
Verdict: 5/5
